Light Bringer Programs Help Kick Off School Year
Public schools across Los Angeles started their fall semester early this year, and our arts and learning initiatives are hitting the ground with them. Room 13 creative studios at John Muir High School, Eliot Middle School and James Foshay Learning Center are already prepared for the bustling activity they enjoyed last year. The L.A. Futures Academy, a work-based learning program that partners cutting edge creative companies with underserved schools, commences this week. Summertime was excellent for preparation as studios were organized, curriculum was designed and meetings were held with parents, principals and school officials. We’re looking forward to high student demand and increased volunteer involvement from the community as our students take hold of these opportunities.
