ArtNight is an ongoing partnership among cultural institutions and the City of Pasadena’s Cultural Affairs Division. 20 locations in all, will feature a range of artistic offerings expected to engage over 20,000 visitors. The citywide arts open house takes place Friday, October 10th, from 6:00-10:00 pm. On that evening, Light Bringer Project at Day One presents Luminosity, a color and light extravaganza, featuring radiant mammal and ice sculpture, creative works from Room 13’s student driven studios, an exhibit of African American prints, a drawing with light experience, music, edibles and much more.
Here is a sneak peek of the radiant mammal known as an up-cycle elephant, the size of an actual baby elephant, by artist Cynthia Minet, who received a mini grant from City of Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division to bring this recycled creature to our show!
Tatiana Viquez will be creating a tiger cub completely out of ice and lit from within. Anyone who saw her ice brain at the last ArtNight will enjoy seeing more of her amazing work. More installations by Amy Wolkins, Zachary Schultz, Dianne Patrizzi, Liane Shih, and Day One's waterfall of light fantastic.
